If you own a swimming pool in the Southern California area you are going to have to deal with hard water issues. The water that comes out of our tap is loaded with calcium and other hardness minerals which makes taking care of your swimming pool a lot less fun and a lot more stressful. Specifically, in the Santa Ana, California area the water coming out of our tap is 450 parts per million (ppm). If you look up swimming pool water chemistry on most websites or walk into a pool store, the recommended level of calcium hardness is between 200 and 400 ppm. Which means when you refill a pool you’re starting out at a level that is higher than what is recommended. Unfortunately, this is something that you have no control over but you do have an option that can help it!

What causes this major issue is, as water evaporates in your swimming pool, the hardness minerals stay behind in solution and gradually build up. As the water gets harder, the calcium will stain the water tile line, the liner of the swimming pool and can ruin the filtration equipment. When this happens, most pool stores will tell you to drain and refill your swimming pool. We hope that as a pool owner you think twice before you do that and we want this blog post to help you understand why you now have a much better option!

If you look at the shower heads and faucets in your house, imagine what that same calcium hardness is doing to your backyard paradise! The calcium will eat up your chlorine and swimming in hard water isn’t fun. It can cause thousands of dollars in damage to your pool and we want to help you! So how do we do that you ask? We want to introduce you to The “Puripool” Process. We recently bought a mobile filtration trailer from Pure Water Industries that is going to make your life so much easier! With mobile filtration we can come to your house or commercial property and recycle the water, which can help you lower the following hard water issues….

  • Calcium Hardness
  • Total Dissolved Solids
  • Cyanuric Acid
  • Phosphates
  • Salts
  • Waterborne Disease
  • And so much more

At Pool Water Recycling we are extremely concerned about the drought situation in California and we want to offer you a way to help. We use Reverse Osmosis filtration, which puts drinking quality water back into your swimming pool without changing the water level. We can recycle most swimming pools in less than a day compared to a 2-3 day drain and refill, we can conserve up to 85% of the water in the swimming pool and we give you much better water than a typical drain and refill.
