Recycling Your Pool Water Every Two Years

At Pool Water Recycling, we highly recommend changing out your pool water at least every two years (even sooner if you have a salt system)! Due to the high Calcium Hardness (CH) in the Orange County area, you should change out your pool water often. High calcium levels in your swimming pool is the main reasons why residential and commercial swimming pool owners should replace their water every two years. Specifically, in our area, we deal with higher levels of Calcium Hardness in our tap water and it can cause major damages to your swimming pool, your filtration equipment, and your salt chlorinator (if you have one) as well! At Pool Water Recycling, we offer an alternative to a typical drain and refill because draining a swimming pool can cause any one of the following:

  • Cracking the interior finish
  • The walls could collapse
  • It is a huge waste of water that can be reclaimed using our purification system

Since we are located in the Southwest United States, we are extremely concerned with the water but if you have the opportunity to save the water by recycling it instead, all of the above risks go away because the interior finish is never exposed. With our Reverse Osmosis (RO) mobile filtration system the water level in the swimming pool never changes and the end product is much better than our tap water. The process will lower CH, Total Dissolved Solids (TDS), salts, CYA, waterborne diseases, phosphates, nitrates and so much more! Not to mention, we can conserve up to 85% of the existing water in the swimming pool too! So why drain it when you not only drink the water coming back into the swimming pool but also conserve a majority of it?

About Pool Water Recycling

Ultimately, as pool water evaporates and time passes, that relaxing, inviting pool becomes more work to maintain and the water becomes less sanitary.

In less than a day, our mobile filtration unit will remove the Total Dissolved Solids, Calcium, excess Stabilizer (Cyanuric Acid), Phosphates, Nitrates, Viruses, etc. We give you back a clean, healthy pool; all while conserving nearly 85% of your existing water! Your pool will be as pure as if you filled it with bottled drinking water. Your family cannot get a better, safer or cleaner pool any other way!

In the past, residential swimming pools have required a drain and refill every 2-3 years to maintain proper water balance and to protect plaster and equipment. Commercial pools can be even more frequent due to greater usage and higher chemical levels required for sanitation. Exposing the plaster during a drain and refill can cause plaster damage and/or failure; an expensive repair! In other occasions, pools have “popped” out of the ground as the water is removed and the pool “floats”.

Why risk damage or waste your existing water when there is a better, safer solution that also allows you to be a good steward of water resources? Water conservation, no risk to your pool and clean, safe water requiring fewer chemicals to maintain… It’s a win-win situation!
